Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital Records and Historical Collection, 1887-2010.

The records and historical collection of the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital (MIBH) consists of materials, 1887-2010, selected by current and former staff members. It contains photographs predominantly, of staff members, the interiors and exteriors of buildings, and of various events. The photographic material includes negatives and slides, reprints from negatives, as well as photographs that were in exhibitions or other displays about the hospital, many still mounted. The collection also contains transcripts of interviews from an oral history project on the hospital by the Bassett History Committee; periodical publications of MIBH such as the Cupola, the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital Bulletin, and the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital Quarterly; various materials about Mary Imogene Bassett; newspaper clippings and scrapbooks; and various other articles, correspondence, notes, and reports, by and about MIBH. Includes an audio CD and a DVD made from presentations about MIBH.

The Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital (MIBH) opened to the public in 1922 in Cooperstown, Otsego County, N.Y., named after a local physician. It is known for being an innovative rural hospital, in patient care, research, and education. It has been affiliated with the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons since 1947.
